MALTON and Norton RUFC brought their second team to Mille Crux and outclassed Nestlé Rowntree 45-5.

Trees’ pack held their own in the scrums but, with two of their forwards in their 50s and two in their 40s, they were unable to match the young Malton team for energy around the park.

Their speedy backs had scored twice before Nestlé centre Liam Spence replied when he won the race following a well-placed kick.

Scrum-half Jack Daniels almost added another with a great 40-yard break but was hauled down inches before the line.

Trailing 19-5 at the interval, Trees defended to maintain the score for the next 20 minutes before Malton showed great pace for four scores in the last quarter.
