DIVISION two Wigginton Grasshoppers provided the only shock in the Grand Central League Cup quarter-finals as they beat division one Selby Olympia 6-5.

’Hoppers led 3-1 at the break with two goals from Danny Franks and a screamer from Neil Walker.

They made sure of a semi-final place with further goals from Luke Roberts, Stuart Philips and an own goal. Steve Rollinson scored four for Olympia, with Dave Evans also on target.

Two goals from Matty Dunn saw Thorpe beat division four Turf Tavern 2-1. Chris Smailes replied.

Ainsty Panthers booked their last four place with a penalty from Darren Brandon and a goal from James Hewittson in 2-0 win over Pocklington Town.

Division one leaders Nestlé Flag were held 2-2 at home by Hounds.

Ashley Hill and Chris Dyson scored for Flag, with Hounds hitting back through John Knowles and Alan Jackson.

Third-placed Derwent United kept pace with the leaders after a 0-0 draw with Skelton.

Severus beat Wanderers 3-1 with two goals from Nick Hutchinson and a Mark Triffit strike. Dave Nelson scored for Wanderers.

Selby Griffin won their first game of the season, beating relegation rivals Hambleton 2-0 thanks to goals from Luke Crowther and Matty Walker.

In division two, promotion- chasing Enterprise closed the gap on the leaders with a 12-2 win over Bishopthorpe, with four goals from Steve Whelerton, a hat-trick by Jonny Sinclair, plus strikes by Paul Bentley, Brendan Walsh, Danny Sellers, Mark Holt and Matty Brown. The Bish scorers were Andy Manns and Rob Taylor.

Haxby Lions were 4-2 winners over Inland Revenue.

Matty Wash and Tom Matthews scored two apiece for the Lions, while Rich Alman and Craig Theaker scored for Revenue.

Edward VII beat York Nomads 5-2 with goals from Chris Hall, Nathan Bird, Rich Pauer, James Birkit and Tom Wheatland.

Nathan Bradley and Michael Horner scored for Nomads.

An Andy Thompson strike earned Cueball a 1-1 draw at Albion Vaults.

Cawood still head division three after a comfortable 7-0 win over F1 Racing, with Jim Darlison hitting the target five times and Billy Atton bagging a brace.

Acorn were 3-1 winners over Marcia Grey. Leigh Dutton, Luke Richardson and Lee Goddard netted for Acorn, while Paul Harris scored a penalty for Marcia Grey.

Danny Oxtoby hit a hat-trick as Gypsy Moth saw off promotion rivals Olympia Reserves 7-0. Andy Woodhall, Joe Ratcliffe and Rich Sheldon added to an own goal.
