DAVID McGurk will make his comeback from a calf injury when York City reserves take on Rotherham at KitKat Crescent this afternoon (kick-off 2pm).

The centre-back has been out since mid-January after limping off just minutes into City’s 2-1 FA Trophy win at Oxford United. Now the former Darlington defender will look to use the match with the Millers to target a quick first-team return.

Skipper Mark Greaves, who is suspended for the Minstermen’s trip to Ebbsfleet after picking up five bookings, will also turn out for City’s second string.

Manager Martin Foyle had hinted the 34-year-old may not travel to Dorset for tomorrow night’s crunch clash at Weymouth – conscious of the effect a long journey might have on recent injury niggles.

With none of the reserve players likely to travel to Weymouth, that means there is also no place in Foyle’s first-team squad for Liam Shepherd and Ben Wilkinson.

York City’s social club will be open and admission to the match is £4 adults and £2 concessions.

Squad: McDonald, Radcliffe, McGurk, Greaves, Brown C, Emmerson, Wilkinson, Knowlson, Shepherd, Wetherald, Parker, Woodall, Thompson, Brown D, Burns, Hopcutt.
