TRIALIST forward Ben Wilkinson impressed on his debut for York City Reserves with two goals in a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United's second string.
Wilkinson, the son of former Leeds United boss Howard, is on the books of Hull City, but the Tigers have given permission for the youngster to play two trial games for the Minstermen.
He netted the first goal of last night's KitKat Crescent clash in the 17th minute, latching on to a throughball and lobbing Blades 'keeper Jamie Anderson.
United equalised on 51 minutes through Matt Lowton's header, but Wilkinson sealed the points with a powerful shot from 15 yards on 59 minutes.
New signings Jimmy Beadle and Simon Rusk played 90 minutes, along with trialist Ipswich Town defender Michael Synnott.
City Reserves' clash with Hartlepool at KitKat Crescent has been switched to Wednesday, March 5, kick off 7pm.
Meanwhile, the Minstermen are still awaiting a response from Northwich Victoria over switching their Setanta Shield fifth round tie at KitKat Crescent from Tuesday, February 5 to Tuesday, January 29.
