A MUCH-DEPLETED Wigginton Grasshoppers succumbed to an 11-1 defeat at the hands of Hambleton in the Fastpack Limited York Sunday Morning League.

Jonathan Wileman inflicted the most damage with four goals, while Nathan Parker and Gregor Anderson both bagged braces.

Hambleton’s other marksmen were Tom Fox, Phillip Newstead and Kane Snelson, as Jamie Willstrop grabbed Grasshoppers’ consolation.

Another high-scoring, one-sided contest saw Atlanta thrash fellow promoted side Acomb Club 13-2.

Atlanta led 8-2 at the break with Kieran Ledger striking twice for Acomb.

Derry Robson fired in five goals as Malt Shovel recorded their first win of the season during a 9-3 beating of Bishopthorpe CFC.

There was also a hat-trick for Tommy Butterfield with Yves Kombe adding to the scoresheet

Daniel Lister, Connor Watson and Daniel Zimer replied for Bishopthorpe.

Hounds brushed aside Bramham 7-1 with Darren Jackson (3), Tom Collins (2), Thomas Hogg and substitute Tom Ellwood on target.

In division two, Clockhouse prevailed 4-2 at Elvington Harriers thanks to Bradley Walters and Callum Acko double-strikes.

Wentworth overcame FC Pollington 4-0 winners with Matt Browne (2), Peter Baird and Dom Green netting.

Bill Phethean, Corey Elcock and Aaron Webster ensured Kings Head United fought back from 2-0 down to take the points at Tang Hall WMC, who had forged in front after Connor Wade’s effort and an own goal.

Mitre’s flying start to the season continued after they made it three wins from their first three games by beating Selby Olympia.

After taking a 3-1 lead into the break, the game finished 4-3 to Mitre, as James Dunwoody and Scott Higgs both bagged braces for the hosts.

Tom Lazenby (2) and Daniel May responded for Olympia.

Thorpe United also made it three wins from three after triumphing against K Town United 3-1.

Reece Stronach scored two with Dom Balance also netting, while Bartlomiej Kaminski scored K Town’s only goal of the game.

In the last week of night games, Clockhouse hosted Tang Hall WMC and secured maximum points during a 4-1 win.

Jordan Wyard (2), Dylan Howlett and Acko all hit the target, with Joseph Rawcliffe replying for Tang Hall.

Elvington Harriers managed to end Mitre’s perfect start, meanwhile, by beating them 5-1, while Selby Olympia claimed their first win of the campaign by beating Kings Head United 4-2.

Braces from Lazenby and Sam McAllister earned them the three points.

Thorpe United carried on their perfect start and still sit top of the league after beating bottom side FC Pollington 3-1.

Jake Wild, Matty Duck and sub Ballance scored Thorpe’s goals to give them a 100 per cent winning record after four games.

Local rivalry between Wentworth and York Medics saw both sides score four goals apiece.

Medics had to come back from two goals behind twice, as Wentworth led 2-0 and 4-2, but the sides couldn’t be separated at the final whistle.

Green grabbed two for Wentworth with Harry Hill and Rob Forrester his side’s other marksmen.
