HEAD coach James Ford understands that York City Knights fans might be expecting another whopper of a scoreline today - but he has stressed his players cannot think like that.

The Knights take on West Wales Raiders in Llanelli this afternoon (3pm) in the reverse of the April fixture that saw Ford's men rack up 25 tries in a world record 144-0 scoreline. The Welsh strugglers have since shipped in a century of points on three further occasions and on average have conceded more than 78 points per match.

However, while Minster city fans will want that number at the very least this afternoon to bolster the League One title challenge, Ford, having already warded off complacency, says his team cannot attempt to score a try every time they touch the ball.

Asked if there was a danger they could force passes and try off-the-cuff attacks while expecting to score at will, Ford - who completes his two-match touchline ban today - said: "My players won't think that.

"There might be an expectation among some supporters (to score lots of tries), and rightly so as we're a good side who have had some positive performances this year.

"Some people were a bit disappointed that we only beat North Wales 30-0 last week, yet there were lots of positive aspects and you also have to give the opposition credit.

"We're just going to focus on our performance, the little things in a performance, and being as good as we can be."
