TADCASTER Albion will build a new standing area at their i2i Stadium and renovate their toilets and changing rooms after winning £4,000 worth of building materials from Jewson.

The Brewers were awarded the grant as part of the Jewson Building Better Communities competition, which attracted thousands of entries from across Great Britain.

After their bid had attracted a high number of votes, Albion attended an event in Coventry, where George Clarke, the host of television shows The Restoration Man and Amazing Spaces, presented the prizes.

“It’s sports groups like Tadcaster Albion which help bring people closer together and Jewson does great work in supporting them with Building Better Communities," Clarke said. "This competition is a fantastic idea and it’s always great to see so many happy faces at the awards presentation.

“By giving something back to the areas that support them, Jewson is creating brighter futures for those who need it and I’d like to congratulate Tadcaster Albion on their deserved win.”

Tadcaster director Andy Charlesworth added: "It's really appreciated that Jewson ran a scheme that local sports clubs can tap into for some much-needed financial support. Obviously, winning the award was not possible without the incredible support of the local community and especially our dedicated fans, so thank you to Jewson and all our supporters.”
