YORK City will monitor five of their seven summer signings before deciding upon a squad for tomorrow’s third pre-season friendly against Bradford City.

Tom Allan (knee), Jordan Burrow (calf), Kallum Griffiths (ankle) and Macaulay Langstaff (illness) all missed out on Tuesday night’s 7-1 home defeat against Barnsley, while fellow new recruit Jake Wright had to be replaced at half-time with a knock after netting for the Minstermen.

First-year professional Flynn McNaughton also limped out of the action just four minutes after being introduced as a second-half substitute.

Bradford, now managed by ex-Minsterman Michael Collins, started their warm-up schedule with a 2-1 defeat at National League North neighbours Guiseley.

First-year professional Reece Powell opened the scoring for the Bantams but goals from former Bootham Crescent midfielder Will Hatfield and Scott Smith secured victory for the hosts.

Martin Gray’s men kicked off their pre-season programme with a 2-1 win at Northern League first division side Shildon last Saturday, before the midweek Barnsley loss.

Following tomorrow’s match, which kicks off at 1pm, Leeds United will visit Bootham Crescent on Thursday night (7pm kick off) and City will then travel to Midland League premier division outfit Ilkeston Town (7pm kick off) on Friday, July 27 ahead of the National League North curtain-raiser at Chorley eight days later.
