A TOTAL of £225 was raised from the Fulford Ladies Invitational League’s Pink Weekend.
Participating clubs wore something pink for their matches to raise awareness and show support for those affected by breast cancer.
There were also pink cakes and pink lunches that helped raise funds.
The idea for the charity initiative came from the Ashes cricket series this winter, when a day in the Sydney test was designated pink in memory of Australian bowler Glenn McGrath’s wife Jane, who died from breast cancer.
