ACOMB Hockey Club are hoping to create a "grand reunion" to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
The modern-day club held its first general meeting on May 13, 1968 following the merger of Phoenix HC and York Spartans HC and had their first round of fixtures on September 28 that year.
They will mark this anniversary on Saturday, September 15, starting at 2pm with a game of mixed hockey between 'ancients' and 'moderns' members and former members.
A spokesperson for the club said: "The club has already contacted those former members for whom we still have records but we are still keen to hear from anyone who has not received an invitation as we are hoping to turn this event into a grand reunion which will create the opportunity to renew old acquaintances and friendships from the last 50 years."
The club reminds those who have already been contacted to reply no later than July 31.
