LEADERS Dunnington maintained their 100 per cent record in division three of the Fulford Ladies Invitational Tennis League by defeating Wistow 63-45.

Fulford 2 are still on their coattails, after captain Carolyn Taylor and Linda Irving led them to a 66-42 win against Knaresborough.

Jackie Mason and Krysia Clark’s 15 games proved vital as Bishopthorpe edged past Copmanthorpe. Top-scorers Ann McCreesh and Sandy Clough helped Boston Spa see off Bubwith 70-38.

Stela Penciu and Nejla Aslan’s 31 games inspired David Lloyd’s first division triumph over Bishopthorpe.

Unbeaten Charlotte Mitchell and Sue Sumner were were to the fore as Dunnington defeated Pocklington 63-45, while leaders York 1 annihilated Castlegarth 79-29. But Wigginton overcame York 2 58-50.

In division two’s top-of-the-table clash, Fulford overcame Rufforth to become new leaders.

Pocklington beat David Lloyd 2, while Helen Halsall and Tijane Metcalfe racked up 24 games in Starbeck’s 58-50 defeat of Castlegarth.

Division four leaders Cliffe crashed to defeat at Wigginton, for whom debutant Kerry Rafton and Yvonne Petruso scored 29 games.

Helen Gray and Hester De Groot won all their rounds in Heworth’s 60-48 victory over Sutton.

Riccall defeated Appleton, with Cynthia and Steff Jackson collecting 33 games.

The week’s star performers, though, were Gerry Screeton and Caz Mackender, who only dropped one game as division five leaders Wilberfoss trounced New Earswick 79-29.

Dunnington 3 have a four-point cushion at the top of division six after Judith Peake-Vout and Margaret Jenkins bagged 29 games as they crushed David Lloyd 84-24.
