THE top two in the Hunters ECB Yorkshire Premier League North both won again and so will go into Monday's clash at Clifton Park with their unbeaten records intact.

Duncan Snell and Oliver Batchelor both hit centuries for leaders York as they beat local rivals Acomb by 82 runs. The pair shared a second-wicket stand of 111, which came after Snell and Jack Leaning (34) had put on 104 for the first wicket.

The hosts finished on 298-4, with stand-in skipper Tom Neal (2-60) picking up wickets for the visitors.

Oliver Collins (41) and Darcy O'Connor (39) provided stout resistance, and Joe Schofield (30) looked set to deny Daniel Woods' side maximum points but three wickets from the York captain at a cost of 41 runs helped ensure that his side maintained their perfect start.

Second-placed Sheriff Hutton Bridge overcame the challenge of a Yorkshire Academy side – who had won their previous two matches – by eight wickets at Weetwood.

In the first half of a fine all-round performance, Mark Fisher (3-32) opened the bowling and took three early wickets before a stand of 91 between Bilal Anjum (54) and Benjamin Birkhead (72) brought their side back into the game. There were also three wickets for Ben Harrison (3-63) as the home side closed on 207-8.

Fisher then opened the batting and, in the course of making 88, shared stands of 97 with his brother Adam (39) and 93 with overseas signing Dulash Udayanga (36no).

The only two wickets to fall went to spinner Joshua Sullivan, who finished with 2-35.

Stamford Bridge returned to winnings ways with a resounding victory over Clifton Alliance, a century from Ryan Gibson (112) and 62 from Pradeeptha Gunaratne helping the home side build a total of 251-6.

In reply, the visitors lost their first two wickets before a run had been scored and never really recovered.

Hamid Khan finished unbeaten on 51 and Greg Drewery scored 31 but they were the only two to offer any real resistance as Luke Robinson tore through the top order, taking 6-29 as the visitors were bowled out for 124 inside 28 overs.

Harrogate dropped into the bottom two after they slumped to a fourth straight defeat, the latest coming at home against Castleford.

Visiting skipper David Wainwright made 62, and support from Christopher Briggs (30) helped them reach 193, with Ashley Griffin the pick of the hosts' bowlers with 4-37.

Gate made a solid start in pursuit of the target, with George Ross (39) leading the way, but then a fine spell from Eddie Morrison (5-36) knocked them back, and the only other score of note came late on from Tom Geeson-Brown (29) as they were eventually dismissed for 141.

Early pacesetters Scarborough suffered a surprise four-wicket defeat at Sessay.

A half-century from Matthew Till (51) and Navin Kavikara's unbeaten 42 helped the side record their second home win of the season and bring to an end a three-match losing run, despite the efforts of Linden Grey (3-38).

Earlier in the day, Darren Harland (48), who just missed out on his fourth half-century of the campaign, Ben Elvidge (30) and Jonathan Read (32) all contributed runs to the visitors' 172-5.

Woodhouse Grange are up to third after they got the better of a Driffield Town side who have now lost three in a row.

Harry Burnhill took three wickets for the home side but a half-century from Christopher Bilton enabled them to reach 209-8.

James Finch took 4-50 as the visitors went in search of maximum points but they were denied by an unbeaten 40 from Town skipper Danny Broumpton, who guided his side to 166-8, which was enough to secure a couple of points for the side from Kings Mill Road.
