THE League Cup finalists have been decided in The Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League.

Both ties had division one teams up against division two line-ups.

Wigginton Grasshoppers faced Rawcliffe United, and Wiggy gained the lead through Steve Jarvis in the opening three minutes.

United created chances of their own, but on the 20-minute mark Tom Derbyshire created a second goal for Jarvis.

Tom Nicholson made it 3-0 to the Grasshoppers before half-time. And after the break Jarvis rounded off his hat-trick with the only goal of the second period to make the final score 4-0.

The other tie saw division two Atlanta narrowly edged out by York Nomads.

The teams couldn't be separated after 90 minutes, and the only goal of the game came from Nomads’ Liam Flanagan with a well-struck free-kick just before half-time in extra-time.

In division one, Hounds jumped back into second and made up three points in the chase to catch Wigginton at the summit.

Hounds travelled to NUR and won the game comfortably 7-0.

Their goals came from Sam Cable (2), Gareth Roberts, Oliver Bloxman, Tom Collins, Leon Wood and Issac Leach.

Bramham dropped a place after only claiming a point against Bishopthorpe CFC. Mark Sissons scored for the home side while Anthony Walsh netted for Bramham.

Haxby United jumped into pole position at the top of division two after beating Kings Head 4-1. A hat-trick from Will Plews and another goal from George Rhodes gave United the points.

A good game between York Medics and Walnut Tree saw the third-placed side triumph. The scores were level 1-1 at the break but Walnut Tree made the second half count, winning 4-2.

Goals from Mike Whiteley, Luke Taylor, Chris Barratt and Bill Pearson gave them the three points. Elliott Jones-Williams and Vinayak Prasad scored for Medics.

Clockhouse hosted Thorpe United, where goals from Kieran Nelson and Dylan Howlett saw Clockhouse win 2-1. Adam Blades was the scorer for Thorpe United.

FC Harrogate hosted Burnholme, with the game finishing 2-2. Sean Robinson and Callum Sanpher hit the mark for the home side, while an own goal and Carl Falcone finish gave Burnholme a share of the spoils.

Wentworth earned a comfortable win against K Town United. The game finished 4-0, with Diego Perdisci scoring a brace, and Peter Baird and Rob Forrester also on target.

Acomb Club travelled to play White Horse, and the encounter finished 7-2 to the visitors.

In midweek, Malt Shovel hosted Brayton in a local derby, which finished 2-2.

Another division one game saw NUR land a 4-1 win over bottom-of-the-table Selby Olympia.

In division two, Haxby United defeated Acomb Club. Goals from Tom Kilvington (2), Lewis Clark, Will Plews and Harry Moorcroft gave Haxby a comfortable 5-0 win.

Thorpe United travelled to Rawcliffe United and netted three points. The game was close throughout and finished 3-2 to Thorpe – Kieran Dinsdale scoring twice and Alex Bowden adding the other for Thorpe.

White Horse hosted K Town United in an entertaining clash which ended 4-4.
