LEAMINGTON will visit York City having lost their last four away games.

The Brakes lost 3-2 at Telford last Thursday, following on from other defeats on their travels against Bradford Park Avenue (1-0), Stockport County (4-0) and Spennymoor (1-0).

Paul Holleran’s men did, however, win 3-2 at National League North champions-elect Salford City back in October, exactly a week before sharing the spoils with the Minstermen during a 2-2 draw at their Hanbury Lane home.

Leamington go into tonight’s home match with play-off hopefuls Chorley fourth from the bottom, although a win would have moved them four places up the league standings.

Anything less will mean the Warwickshire side arrive in North Yorkshire still just one place above the relegation zone with two games to play and Gainsborough Trinity and Tamworth still in close pursuit.

Leamington have also taken just one point from a possible nine ahead of the Chorley contest, having been held to a 0-0 draw by Curzon Ashton at the weekend.

The visitors will be without their two leading marksmen this season (prior to tonight’s match), with eight-goal Colby Bishop having suffered cruciate ligament damage on Boxing Day.

Rob Thompson-Brown, meanwhile, departed for Evo-Stik League side Stafford Rangers in December after netting six times.

Following that pair, on-loan Crewe striker Daniel Udoh, Ahmed Obeng and midfielder Liam Canavan had all scored five times after last weekend’s programme of fixtures.

Former City attacker Kaine Felix will play no part against his old team either.

The ex-Boston winger left Leamington in February after failing to hit the target in 15 appearances.

He joined the Brakes in November after being deemed surplus to requirements at Bootham Crescent.
