YORK RUFC junior section will round off their season with a cup final and a festival day.

This Sunday (April 22) sees the under-13s take on Sandal at Harrogate in the Yorkshire Cup before all age groups flock to Clifton Park for the charity fun day on Sunday, May 6.

It will cap off a good campaign for the youngsters, some of whom have already been on tour to Dublin and Matlock, as well as playing in festivals at Driffield and Harrogate and getting on the pitch at Headingley.

Meanwhile, the U13s – the first competitive rugby age group – made it through to their final having seen off Yarnbury, Ripon and West Park Leeds scoring a combined 105 points with the concession of only 20.

The fun day will include three more matches played back-to-back on the 1st XV pitch from 10.30am. First up is the U15 tour game against Wigan, then the Women's XV friendly against Northallerton and finally the dads v Cavs men's match.

There will also be touch rugby games running for all throughout the morning, junior presentations from 9.45am and a giant inflatable assault course.

All proceeds and players' fees will go to St Leonard's Hospice.
