YORK Minster Engineering League’s representative team’s FA Inter-League Cup final against the Amateur Football Combination will be held at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground.
The match will kick off in the Championship side’s stadium at 1pm on Sunday, May 6 with admission just £5 for adults and £1 for under-16s on the day.
An extra-time hat-trick by Huntington Rovers striker Liam Flanagan fired the YMEL side into the prestigious national final during a 4-1 triumph over the Kent County League on Harrogate Town’s 3G pitch.
Andrew Simpson’s opening goal had earlier been cancelled out by sub George Latham.
Their fellow finalists, who call upon players from the London and Home Counties region, also needed extra-time to prevail in their semi-final, overcoming the North Riding League 4-3, after the scores finished 3-3 during 90 minutes.
Both teams will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the West Yorkshire League, who won the 2016 title after beating the Teesside League 3-2 at Bootham Crescent.
The winners will also go on to represent England in European competition.
