TWO old adversaries will face up once again in the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League individual final tonight when Tracey Farmeary of Tramways meets Fulforgate captain Michelle Britton.

Farmeary progressed to the final after beating club colleague Tina Platt 2-0, hitting a timely 140 followed by a ton and a double nine check-out for a 22-dart first leg.

The second leg was a close encounter, with Platt missing a double-top finish which allowed Tracey to close on double eight.

Britton went up against Burnholme’s Sharon Neads, whose ton was overhauled by Britton’s 125 reply. It was nip and tuck all the way with both players missing their chances before Britton finally hit double one.

The second leg again was a close affair where a double seven secured the match for the Gate skipper.

In the pairs competition, Britton was joined by an in-form Dawn Exton against Neads and Sarah Jackson.

Exton hit four triple-figure scores in the first leg to leave her partner to win the first leg with a double-top checkout.

In the second leg, Britton hit a ton and a 135 to give the Fulfordgate pair a resounding lead and a double-two closure secured them a 2-0 win.

The other pairs semi-final is to be played on finals night between Farmeary with Jayne Janes and Marj Pearson with Caroline Whittaker.

In the triples, Jane Dobson joined Neads and Jackson up against Priory trio Di Moreland, Babs Harrison and Lynn Noble.

Neads and Jackson hit tons which gave them a reasonable advantage but Moreland clocked a 135 to make it a closer game before a double-16 check gave the Burnholme threesome the first game.

Another double 16 in the second leg saw the club side through to the final, where they will meet Fulfordgate’s Muriel Britton, Cara Britton and Jill Reed.

Those three outshone Tramways trio Bev Harton, Gina Whittaker and Natalie Bosworth, with Reed hitting a 153 to give the Gate team the edge. A first-leg double 16 and a double eight in the second secured their path to the finals.

Farmeary joined Clockhouse’s Lisa Benton in the drawn pairs, and they they overcame Harrison and Linda Staveley of Tramways.

They will meet Di Moreland and Sandra Flintoft of Puss ‘n’ Boots who went through after a three-game thriller, taking the first with a double-one finish and their second with a double 18.

The finals will take place at Tramways WMC tonight, starting at 8pm.
