TADCASTER Albion are hopeful that the knock-on effect from the current adverse weather conditions will not harm their Evo-Stik League north play-off ambitions.

With both tomorrow’s game at Ossett Town and Tuesday’s home fixture against Colwyn Bay both doubtful to go ahead, the Brewers could be heading towards a busy April schedule as they pick up their rearranged matches.

Albion have built up momentum recently, winning four consecutive games without conceding, but could see that broken up by postponements.

Meanwhile, captain Andy Milne has chosen to undergo ankle surgery and is expected to be out until after the end of March.

Club spokesman Jay Taylor said: “It’s going to be a hectic April for us. Hopefully the lay-off doesn’t affect our rhythm too much.

“He (Milne) had his operation yesterday, it all went okay. It’s been troubling him a while, and he finally decided to do something after speaking with the bosses.

“He hopes to be back in a month’s time to help with the run-in, which might be slightly optimistic – maybe six weeks is more realistic.”

Scarborough Athletic dropped to third in the Evo-Stik League north after their 10-game winning run was halted last weekend in a goalless draw at Bamber Bridge.

Tomorrow, they are due to host 12th-placed Glossop North End, who are one of only five teams to beat the Seadogs this season, claiming a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture.

National League North leaders Harrogate Town are scheduled a trip to 13th-placed Boston United tomorrow where they will be hoping to extend their league winning run to six.

Boston’s 1-0 home reversal against Leamington Spa two weeks ago was their first league defeat since November’s 3-1 loss at Town in a game which saw two penalties in the opening six minutes.
