HAXBY Town all but secured promotion back to York Minster Engineering League division one with a 10-2 victory at Huby United.

They now need just a point from their last two games to make certain of going up - and even two defeats might not deny them as nearest challengers Strensall and Heworth would both still need to overturn massive deficits in terms of goal difference.

Thomas Green and Robert Nicholson struck for Huby but they were overpowered by strikes from five-goal Josh Winn and four-goal Adam Chaplin, with Kieran Harris taking Town into double figures.

Danny Franks hit four goals for second-placed Strensall in their 5-3 win over Civil Service. Alastair Bell scored Strensall's fifth with Declan Richardson, Nathan Parker and George Jackson replying for the hosts.

Aaron Le Fevre and Liam Booth (2) fired Barmby Moor to a 3-1 success over Stamford Bridge.

Division three leaders Rufforth United had Lee Dutton (2), Danny Cates, Adam Brooke, Liam Keenaghan and Craig Ackroyd on target in a 6-1 triumph over The Raj.

Cawood remain three points behind the pacesetters following their 4-0 win over Fulford FC, in which Matthew Snell (2), Jean Pierre Grenier and Phil Wickham bagged their goals.

Elliott Precious (4), Will Nicholson (2) and Josh Evans (2) led the scoring for Bubwith White Swan in a 13-3 romp against Bramham, while Malt Shovel won 9-1 over Moor Lane.

The only game in division four saw Pollington beat visiting Huntington FC 2-0 thanks to goals from Tom Heckingbottom and Jimmy Hall.
