FULFORDGATE captain Michelle Britton inspired her team to an 8-1 win at Severus 'A' with a 19-dart leg which included two 140 throws.

The rest of the team followed suit to confine the hosts to the foot of the York John Smith's Ladies Darts League division one, prevented from a full house only by Sue Richardson and Jackie Simpson in the pairs.

On a day for the captains, Tracey Farmeary of Tramways 'A' threw a 23-dart leg to send the leaders on their way to a narrow 5-4 win at home to Marcia, whose Chris Hayward had won the opening game.

Natalie Bosworth, Bev Harton and Gina Whittaker reinforced their captain's success to give the hosts a three-leg advantage before Joan Hunter narrowed the margin and Faye Hawksby combined with mother Sue Smith and Hunter with Barbara Russell to set up a decider, which saw Farmeary/Harton snatch victory.

Burnholme enhanced their chances for honours with an 8-1 win at Priory, who had only Lynne Noble standing in the visitors' way.

Sharon Neads hit tons for Holme, as did Clair Cooper for the Micklegate squad.

Division two leaders Golden Slipper were given a rough ride at Burton Stone, losing 7-2 with both teams a player short.

Burton swept up the singles, Linda Embleton, Sheila Harrison, Marianne Deamer, Sandra Pallister and Katrina Thackeray sealing match points before adding gloss in the doubles.

Final pairing Sue Tait/Elaine Metcalfe won for the visitors.

Tramways ‘B’ were taken to the wire at Leeman ‘A’ in a narrow 5-4 win.

Dawn Clarke, Margaret Yeomans, Charlotte Witts set the hosts up, but Flossy Crampton, Linda Staveley, Karen Alton replied.

Crampton/Wendy Sullivan edged the visitors in front and Staveley/Georgina Clayton snatched match points in the decider that was set up by Witts/Janet Nelson.

Clockhouse survived a scare at Clifton Hotel to remain in the running with a 5-4 win.

Captain Sarah Rankeillor won the opener for Clock but Clifton captain Cris Turgoose, Sarah Evans and Alice Turgoose hit back.

Rose Gray and Zoey Chadwick brought the scores level before Chadwick/Lisa Benton edged the visitors in front before Evans/Turgoose set up a decider which was snatched by Gray/Sammy Benton.

Kirsty Limbert's 26-dart game, including scores of 120 and 116, helped Puss to a 6-3 win over Saddle.

The hosts entered the pairs 4-2 up, with Kath Powell and Doreen England the winners for Saddle. Limbert/Gemma Coulson sealed the victory, Gemma Collins/Sandra Flintoft added a point and Sharon Nelson/Powell won a consolation.

Players entered in the Carole Perrett Drawn Pairs on Tuesday, February 27 must be at Tramways for 7.45pm for an 8pm start. League fees should be with the secretary by this Thursday.
