TADCASTER Albion will make the trip to Evo-Stik League north rivals Kendal Town tomorrow “full of confidence” as they look to continue their unbeaten league run.

The Brewers have won three of their last four Evo-Stik fixtures, and earned an admirable point at leaders South Shields. Their last league game ended with a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Glossop North End in which youngster Casey Stewart bagged a brace.

Tomorrow’s opponents ended a five-game losing run two weeks ago with a 5-1 home win over Ossett Albion and sit nine points and five places below Taddy in the table.

Jay Taylor, a club spokesman, has said that, while the Brewers remain respectful of the Cumbrian side, they are hopeful the disparity in league position will come through on the day.

He said: “I know it’s a cliché, but every game is a tough one in this division. But we’ll go there full of confidence.

“We’re now four games unbeaten in the league, hoping to make it five, and that will give us a boost we can take back home next week in front of our own fans (against Droylsden).

“It’s definitely a winnable game from our perspective, looking at where Kendal are in the table.”

Albion, meanwhile, are 10th and only three points outside the play-off places, but they are not getting carried away with the possibilities that lie ahead.

Taylor said: “We’re keeping our feet on the ground. You can never really determine where you really stand in the table when teams have played different numbers of games.

“We’ll just keep going, taking one game at a time and you never know what will happen. Hopefully we can sneak in there (the promotion play-off places).

“But whatever happens, it’s been a more positive season than last year.”

A likely addition to the matchday squad will be 20-year-old central midfielder Mitch Langton, a former Hull City and Goole player, who trained with the squad on Saturday after their fixture at Prescot Cables was postponed.

The time was used profitably, said Taylor: “We had a spinning session, which was pretty intense, and then a training session, which, combined, was hard work.

“Coming from Hull, Langton has good pedigree. He’s good on the ball, a good technical player and he’s got plenty of ability.”

Scarborough Athletic have slipped to third in the division with both Saturday’s fixture at Mossley and Tuesday’s at Radcliffe postponed, while Hyde United won their weekend game against Colne 1-0.

Meanwhile, leaders South Shields have moved four points clear of the Seadogs after winning their game in hand 3-1 over Skelmersdale United.

And Skem will be the visitors to the Flamingo Land Stadium on Saturday, bringing with them one win from their last 14 games – the mirror image of Boro, who have lost just the one in that timeframe.

Harrogate Town have moved to within two points of National League North leaders Salford City after their 3-1 victory last week at Leamington and Salford’s 1-0 defeat at York City.

Simon Weaver’s men tomorrow travel to fourth-placed Kidderminster Harriers who are on a three-game winning run, interspersed with two postponements.
