AIDAN Connolly has moved to within 13 points of runaway Press Player of the Month leader Jon Parkin.

The Scotsman benefitted from Parkin’s unavailability in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Tamworth by picking up two points towards the contest as our second-highest rated performer.

That moved him ahead of skipper Sean Newton in the standings as Parkin’s still-distant, nearest rival.

Connor Smith, meanwhile, received three points is The Press’ man of the match, with Jonny Burn (one) also rewarded for his efforts as our third-highest rated player at the Lamb Ground.

The two Player of the Month bonus points available to that competition also went to Smith after he topped out Twitter man-of-the-match poll.
