TRAMWAYS ‘A’ went top of York John Smith's Ladies' Darts League division one after a hard-fought 7-4 win at Severus ‘A’.

Davina Shannon and Jackie Simpson gave the hosts an ideal start, and Glynnis Simpson added to their tally after Bev Harton had briefly narrowed the gap.

Ways then levelled through Jayne Jaynes and Tracey Farmeary, who was then joined by Gina Whittaker to edge the club side in front in the pairs. But Simpson/Sue Clark hit back to set up the decider, which saw Harton/Natalie Bosworth snatch match points in a double-one shoot-out.

Severus ‘B’ fared better, winning 7-4 at Marcia.

Sharon Rishworth and Linda Penrose gave the hosts an early lead, but Wendy Storr, Michelle Kelly, Sharon Mountain and Dot Sellars replied. The visitors were pegged back by the pairs Chris Hayward/Faye Hawksby and Penrose/Rishworth, but Storr/Jan Teasdale won the deciding leg.

Burnholme made home advantage count as Jane Dobson, Marj Pearson, Caroline Whittaker and Jean West gave them a good start en route to an 8-3 victory over Edinburgh Arms.

Edinburgh's Anthea Jamieson replied, and Julie Stables hit two tons, before Lynne Willstrop/Dobson and Pearson/Sarah Jackson secured the win for Holme. Jamieson/Amanda Bevan got Edinburgh's other consolation.

Castle Howard Ox have withdrawn from the league. All points have been amended.

Golden Slipper got back to winning ways at the top of division two with a 9-2 victory over Leeman ‘A’.

Dawn Clarke gave the visitors the lead, only to watch as Anita Adams' 76 check-out and winning games from Elaine Metcalfe, Vicky Sellars, Jody Hancock and Sue Tait secured match points.

Adams/Sellars and Hancock/Doreen Johnstone completed the rout before Margaret Yeomans/Denise Pittock earned a consolation.

Second-placed Tramways ‘B’ beat Burton Stone 6-3 after a clean sweep in the pairs through Linda Staveley/Mollie Carlton, Becky Thompson/Georgina Clayton and Flossie Crampton/Wendy Sullivan.

Clockhouse stayed in touch with the top after winning 7-2 at Saddle.

Lisa and Sammy Benton, Lauren Tattersfield, Zoey Chadwick and Sarah and Ellie Rankeillor secured match points, before Kath Powell/Chris Patterson and Sharon Nelson/Doreen England won pairs games for the home side.

Leeman 'B' captain Heather Bulmer (121, 100) inspired her side to a 7-4 home win over Clifton Hotel.

Colleagues Brenda Dawe and Sal Richardson added wins before Cris and Linda Turgoose and Sarah Evans replied for the visitors.

Linda was joined by mother Alice to give the visitors the edge in the pairs, but Dawe combined with Julie Oliver and Bulmer with Tracey Yeomans to snatch victory back for Leeman.
