YORK John Smith's Ladies Darts League division one leaders Fulfordgate were given a fright by visitors Severus ‘B’, but fought back from a three-leg deficit to win 5-4.

Janette Teasdale, Michelle Kelly and Dot Sellars put Sev into an early lead, but Brittons Michelle, Muriel and Cara levelled matters.

In the pairs, the latter Britton joined by Lynn Thompson and Muriel with Jill Reed completed the comeback before Sharon Mountain and Wendy Storr won a consolation for Sev.

Hot on the leaders' heels are Burnholme, who had Sarah Jackson starring with three tons in their 5-4 win over Marcia.

Caroline Whittaker, Jo West and Jackson set the pace, while visitors Marcia had Faye Hawksby, Anne Cornthwaite and Joan Hunter reciprocating.

Sarah was joined by sister Jane Dobson to edge Holme in front - despite a maximum by Marcia skipper Hawksby - but the Marcia pair of landlady Linda Penrose and Sharon Rishworth set up a decider, claimed by the hosts' West and Whittaker.

Edinburgh captain Chris Lamb opened the scoring at Severus 'A', only to see her side go down 5-4 despite a strong fightback.

Davina Shannon, Sue Clark, Sheila Elliott and Carol Robson replied for the hosts, before Amanda Bevan narrowed the gap going into the doubles. Bevan/Donna Lynes and Lamb/Claire Jamieson set up a decider, only to see Glynnis and Jackie Simpson snatch victory for the hosts.

Tramways ‘A’ were gifted their points as Castle Howard Ox could not raise a team.

Clifton Hotel broke their duck in division two, as a 91 finish by captain Cris Turgoose inspired them to a 5-4 win at Burton Stone.

Fellow Turgeese Linda and Alice ensured they went into the pairs on level terms before Sandra Pallister, Katrina Thackeray and captain Linda Embleton claimed legs for the hosts.

Linda Turgoose/Emma Standing edged the visitors in front, and colleagues Sarah Evans/Angela Fletcher sealed match points.

Clockhouse earned a 5-2 win at Leeman 'B', whose Maggie Bedingham and Louise Warren had given them a good start.

The visitors, however, had Rose Gray, Ellie Rankeillor, Sammy Benton and Sarah Rankeillor replying, and a clean sweep in the pairs saw them take victory.

Leaders Golden Slipper slipped up again with a 5-4 loss to visitors Saddle, who had victory secured within the singles, Sharon Lyon sealng the points.

Tramways ‘B’ moved into second place as they won a 5-4 thriller against close rivals Puss n Boots, whose Sandra Flintoft bagged a 180. Mollie Carlton and Karen Alton snatched victory in the deciding pairs leg.

The triples and captain/vice-captain competitions at Tramways will be held at 8pm on Tuesday, January 30.
