WILBERFOSS Mavericks went clear at the top of the York & District FA Under-19s League first division after champions Dringhouses were shocked by lowly York Cubs.

Foss won 4-2 at home to Poppleton thanks to a hat-trick by Dan Harvey and an Isaac Clark strike. Ben Singleton got both the Popp replies.

Dringhouses, who had been joint top with Foss on points, fell 2-1 to Cubs thanks to goals by Matt Jackson and Tom Charlesworth, with Harry Bissett getting the sole response.

Wigginton and Rawcliffe drew 1-1, Harry Clapham on target for third-placed Wiggy and George Brown for Rawcliffe.

Easingwold Town Hawks leapfrogged Bishopthorpe White Rose at the bottom after beating them 3-1 on their own turf. Dale Stephenson, Tom Kennedy and Tom Rushworth scored for the Hawks, with Tim Brown netting for Bish who slump to the foot of the table.

Fulford maintained their 100 per cent record in division two with a 2-0 home victory over mid-table Wheldrake thanks to goals by Harry Barker and James Kerr the scorers

Easingwold Town Harriers got only their second win of term as they beat Rufforth 5-1 thanks to goals by Tom Newton (2), Joe Adams, Kit Chappel and Fraser McLleland. Joe Allerton notched the consolation.
