FULFORDGATE closed the gap to John Smith’s Ladies' Darts League division one leaders Tramways 'A' by beating them 6-3 on their own turf.

Tracey Farmeary threw a 20-dart leg for the hosts but Gate had the pair of Muriel Britton and Alex Exton snatching victory in the second pairs.

The top two both played two matches to make up for lost fixtures.

At home, Fulfordgate beat Castle Howard Ox 7-4.

Michelle, Muriel and Cara Britton and Jill Reed ensured Gate entered the pairs with an advantage. Toni Smallwood’s 20-dart leg lessened the deficit before Dawn and Alex Exton secured match points.

Farmeary, meanwhile, kickstarted Tramways' winning run against Severus ‘B’, who had only Angie Kaya winning in the singles. Gina Whittaker, Jayne Janes, Tina Platt and Bev Harton secured match points.

Severus ‘A’ lost 7-4 to visitors Burnholme.

The teams were on equal terms entering the pairs, but Mavis Barker/Caroline Whittaker edged Burnholme in front and Sarah Jackson/Lynne Willstrop sealed the win.

Marcia won 8-3 at Priory. They raced into a 3-0 lead before Clair Cooper and Lynn Noble narrowed the gap.

The Bishopthorpe side pulled away once more through Chris Hayward, then produced a dominant display in the pairs.

Hayward/Faye Hawksby made sure of the win, and Linda Penrose/Anne Cornthwaite added some gloss to the scoreline.

In division two, leaders Golden Slipper did not play, and the ensuing battle for a runners-up spot was fierce.

Puss n Boots received a blow as visitors Clockhouse beat them 9-2. Ellie Rankeillor, Zoey Chadwick, Laura Gatenby and Rose Gray set the ball rolling, and a clean sweep in the pairs ensured victory.

Leeman 'B's Julie Oliver closed on bull in the final pairs with Vicky Capes, but it was not enough to prevent visitors Tramways ‘B’ winning 8-3.

Wendy Sullivan and Mollie Carlton top scored for Tramways before Becky Thompson and Flossy Crampton won the match in the pairs.

Leeman ‘A’ won 7-4 at Clifton Hotel, with mother and daughter Debbie and Charlotte Witts getting them off to a good start and the pair of Jackie Gray and Margaret Yeoman securing victory.

Angela Fletcher, Linda Turgoose, Freda Harman and Jayne Flynn replied for Clifton.

Sharon Nelson was Saddle’s lone singles success as hosts Burton Stone won 8-3, with Sandra Pallister sealing victory.
