IT WAS not a good week for Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League side Acomb Club, who were knocked out of the North Riding County Cup thanks to a 16-3 defeat to Grangetown.

In division one of the league, the top two went head-to-head with York Nomads hosting Hounds. It was the Selby side who kept their 100 per cent record intact with Hounds winning 2-1.

Nomads’ Casey Stewart scored the only goal in the first half but it was Chris Jackson and Sam Cable who made the difference to give Hounds all three points.

Wigginton Grasshoppers beat last season’s winners Malt Shovel.

Wigginton took the lead with Tom Derbyshire scoring after seven minutes, and Pat Evans soon doubled that advantage.

The second half saw Harry Brigham score Malt’s only goal before Harry Clapham and Evans netted Wigginton’s third and fourth to complete the scoring.

Hambleton travelled to York College to take on Bishopthorpe CFC, and netted two second-half goals to take the victory. Nathan Parker and Kane Snelson were the scorers.

An enthralling game between Bramham and Bubwith saw the sides share ten goals.

Ryan Whitlam and Jason Crisp both bagged braces with Jamie Sedman scoring Bubwith's other goal. Josh Wilson scored two with Brian Blewitt, Mike Tasker and Andy Maxted also on target for Bramham.

The final division one game saw Selby Olympia host NUR, with Olympia picking up their first victory in the top tier.

The game finished 4-3 to Selby with Robert Frair scoring two, and Tom Lazenby and Adrian Kistel adding to Selby’s total. Calum Roe-Dixon, Lewis Jeffers and Jason Newman were NUR’s goalscorers.

In division two, Atlanta continued their impressive start, beating FC Harrogate 7-0.

Another clean sheet and impressive win saw them retain top spot. Liam Edmondson was the pick of the bunch scoring four, while Dan Smith added two and Jordan Latimer scored for Atlanta.

Burnholme travelled to Clockhouse but couldn’t pick up their first points of the season, losing 3-1.

A brace from Dylan Howlett and a goal from Callum Atkinson saw Clockhouse take the victory. Burnholme’s sole goalscorer was Scott Higgs.

White Horse came up against K Town United and bagged a 7-1 win.

White Horse’s Jack Cowdrew scored four goals with Luke Howlett, Craig Fletcher and Jordan Wyard also on the mark. Les Leitch scored K Town’s only goal.

Wentworth’s Dom Green and Diego Perdisci both scored two and Rob Forrester netted to take a victory away from Kings Head. The game finished 5-2 with Ged Christian claiming both of Kings' goals.

Walnut Tree won their game against Rawcliffe United to remain second in the league.

The encounter finished 5-2 to Walnut Tree with two goals each from Ryan Garbutt and Steve Smith, while Mike Whiteley also added for the away side.

York Medics and Thorpe United drew 1-1. The rivals met the previous week when Medics got the better of their counterparts, but this time around they couldn’t be separated.

Robbie Britland claimed Medic’s goal while Alex Bowden was Thorpe’s scorer.
