NESTLE Rowntree RUFC turned in another fine performance to see off Leodiensians 2nds 59-19 in the Yorkshire Merit North League One.

The table-toppers, facing a youthful outfit, expected a tough game after two weeks of no rugby due to opponents crying off but again strong running in the backs and dominance in the forwards brought a sixth league win out of six.

Nestle were soon well ahead with scrum-half Romain Cames burrowing over, full-back Dave Harder sidestepping in, and wing Mike Palfrey beating the opposition to a kick to touch down, Jack Daniels adding two conversions.

Trees then laboured a little until centre Elliott Morgan charged over, Daniels converting again.

Leos were trying hard and were rewarded near the interval with a converted try but Trees scored again after the break when prop Zak Hardy charged 30 metres for a converted effort.

Leos again hit back with a converted try and looked a good bet to score again but Trees' defence held firm and they then got going again in devastating fashion with a four-try salvo in just 10 minutes - wings Chris Cook and Dave Helsden, Harder and wing-forward Alex Robertshaw the scorers with Daniels converting three.

Leos then ran everything and scored an unconverted try but could not get past the defence a fourth time.
