CHRIS Quantock was knocked out of the Happy Bet International Darts Open by eventual winner Peter Wright.
The world number three defeated York arrows ace Quantock 6-2 in the second round of the PDC European Tour event, held in Riesa, Germany.
Quantock trailed 2-0 in the match, but fought back well to level the score by taking out double-top twice.
He also had a chance to forge in front, needing 42 in a decisive visit that saw him fail to secure a throw at a double and Wright went on to close out the game in ruthless fashion before eventually lifting the trophy after defeating Kim Huybrechts 6-5 in a thrilling final.
Former Huntington School pupil Quantock had earlier knocked out Dragutin Horvat 6-3.
Fellow Minsterman Richie Corner also progressed past Martin Schindler 6-3, before exiting the competition 6-1 against Bradford’s Joe Cullen.
