YORK Schoolboys Under-11s chiefs have finalised their squad for the new season, following their thrashing of Barnsley in the last fixture of pre-season.
York won 7-1, with Alex Widdup leading the way with a hat-trick.
A spokesman said: “York’s coaches were very pleased with the whole team’s performance and felt they thoroughly deserved the scoreline. Every individual performed well, which following the game left the coaches with some tough decisions finalising their squad for the season.”
York fell behind to a Barnsley penalty, but soon turned the game around and won comfortably with goals from Widdup (3), James Rennocks (2), Charlie Thompson and Kiam Browne.
York Schoolboys U11s squad for 2017/18: Yates, Bryant, Hobson, Woodhead, Browne, Cresswell, Bajaziti, Berriman, Rennocks, Jefferson-Hallet, Thompson, Widdup.
