JACK Brooks and Ben Coad struck twice apiece to help Yorkshire dominate the opening morning against Warwickshire at Headingley.

The hosts started this match, their penultimate of the Specsavers County Championship campaign, a point clear of the Division One relegation zone.

Already-relegated Warwickshire slipped to 49-6 after winning the toss this morning, with former England batsman Jonathan Trott falling for just one.

Steve Patterson and Matt Fisher also struck as the Bears took lunch at 53-6 from 30 overs.

Brooks had Trott caught brilliantly by a diving Adam Lyth at second slip, while Dom Sibley fell for three, debutant opener Liam Banks for 13, Matt Lamb for four, Tim Ambrose for six and Alex Thomson for a duck.

Yorkshire, who selected an all-seam attack, bowled superbly in useful conditions.

Ian Bell begins the afternoon session unbeaten on 23, having gone beyond 19,000 first-class career runs this morning.
