SALFORD are targeting a sixth straight home win ahead of hosting York City in the FA Cup second qualifying round.

Since a 2-0 opening-day defeat to Darlington, the Manchester side have seen off Stockport (2-1), Kidderminster (3-0), Southport (2-1), Brackley (2-0) and Nuneaton (3-0).

In fact, the Darlington match represents the only time Salford have been beaten on their own soil in 19 contests, stretching back to a 3-0 FA Trophy defeat to Harrogate Town last December.

Salford are also unbeaten in ten games since the Darlington setback which is the Ammies’ only loss in 16 games since going down 1-0 at Gainsborough on Good Friday, discounting the play-off, semi-final penalty shoot-out defeat to Halifax.

Currently sitting second in the National League North table level on points with leaders Harrogate, joint-managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley have been without centre-back Danny Livesey, recruited from Barrow over the summer, since the second game of the campaign when he picked up an ankle injury.

Midfielder Gus Mafuta, meanwhile, has been unable to play any part following his switch from Gateshead in the close season.

Ex-Manchester City trainee Jack Redshaw is Salford’s top scorer this term on five, although all his of goals have come in two fixtures, hitting a hat-trick against Kidderminster and bagging a brace in the Brackley win.

Redshaw ended last season at Rochdale, but made his name in the Football League with Morecambe and Blackpool, scoring a combined tally of 45 goals for both clubs in 169 appearances.

Now 26, Redshaw’s best goal return in a single season was 16 for Morecambe in 2012/13.

Former Tranmere and Halifax midfielder Lois Maynard, meanwhile, has netted three times in his last four games.

Maynard is a Saint Kitts and Nevis international team-mate of Minstermen midfielder Theo Wharton.

Salford have beaten top teams Harrogate (2-1) and Brackley already this month and have kept the same 4-4-2 starting line-up for the last two games since Anthony Dudley replaced Richie Allen in the first XI.

Tomorrow’s hosts have only reached the FA Cup first round proper once in 2015/16 and went on to beat Notts County 2-0, before bowing out at the next stage 2-0 after extra-time in a replay against Hartlepool.
