TRAMWAYS A captain Tracey Farmeary will once again take on Fulfordgate skipper Michelle Britton in the York John Smith’s Ladies League individual final.

Farmeary overcame semi-final debutant Danni Laycock 2–0 courtesy of a 20-dart first leg and a deciding double-three checkout.

In the other last-four contest, Britton threw 123, 116 and 100 in an impressive first leg against Slipper newcomer Jody Haddock and, after the latter had narrowly missed out on a checkout of 90, went on to seal victory.

Pairs’ title holders Britton and Dawn Exton fell behind to Ox’s Tracey Watkinson and Anne Bass, who threw a 72 finish to take the first leg.

The scores were levelled after a double-one shoot-out and a 140 in the decider from Britton provided the platform for another final appearance.

The Gate duo will meet Burnholme’s Caroline Whittaker and Marj Pearson, who defeated mother-and-daughter Tracey and Lauren Farmeary 2-0.

Double-one throws clinched both legs with Whitaker also throwing a 120.

Peason and Whitaker were joined by Lynne Wilstrop in the triples against the Farmearys and Jayne Jarvis.

A 100 in the first game from Tracey enabled Lauren to close on double 18.

In the second leg, another good visit of 140 from Tracey could not prevent Whittaker checking out on 61 checkout from Whittaker.

The decider also went in favour of the Burnholme trio with the match settled on double eight.

They will meet club colleagues Sarah Jackson, Sharon Neads and Jane Dobson who beat Burton Stone’s Linda Embleton, Sandra Pallister and Susan Barker.

Jackson started that game with a maximum and also hit 140 following her next visit.

But Dobson just missed a 92 finish, leaving Neads to close the leg on double ten.

Dobson and Neads were the second leg’s big scorers, allowing Jackson to book a final place with double five.

In the Elsie Bell Drawn pairs, which sees club players drawn against each other, Toni Smallwood (Ox) and Michelle Kelly (Severus B) defeated Dawn Stamp (Ox) and Sharon Mountain (Severus B).

Two tons from Smallwood the first leg could not stop Mountain taking the first leg on double ten.

But Smallwood rallied again to hit a 140 and 50 finish to level and the same player sealed victory by finishing on 35.

In the other semi-final, Britton and Pallister were pitted against Wilstrop and Severus B’s Wendy Storr.

Britton claimed the first leg on double ten and Pallister wrapped matters up with double two.

In the Captain/Vice Captain’s Trophy, defending champions Britton and Exton were given a hard fight by Marcia’s Faye Hawksby and Chris Hayward.

The Gate pair forged in front with a 64 finish, but the scores were levelled with a double-ten throw.

Despite a ton each from the Marcia pair steady, another double-ten finish settled the outcome.

Tracey Farmeary and Bev Harton await in the final after winning through 2-0 against Slipper’s Doreen Johnstone and Anita Adams.

The finals will take place at Tramways WMC tonight with an 8pm start.
