HUNTERS York & District Senior League division one leaders Hull Zingari moved a step closer to an immediate return to the Premier Division as they won for the fourth week in a row.

Victory at home to Harrogate means the side which were relegated at the end of last season need one win from their remaining three matches to secure promotion.

A fine all-round performance from Matthew Bunn (3-41 and 51no) led the way in a seven- wicket win, with Jack Storey taking 5-38 as the visitors were bowled out for 155, Ben Kempley being the top scorer with 34.

Guy Martinson (42) backed up Bunn's innings as the home side cruised to a comfortable victory.

The remaining promotion place looks to be a two-horse race between Sewerby and Folkton & Flixton, with the former having a slender two-point advantage after winning at Beverley Town.

Adrian Long scored 36 out of 208 as Joey Franklin (3-53) picked up wickets for the home side.

Long then followed up with 3-34 and Sam Wragg took 4-18 as the hosts were bowled out for 163, despite a defiant 68 from Andy Burton.

Folkton & Flixton left it late to ensure that they kept pace with their promotion rivals, beating Knaresborough with just four balls to spare in a high-scoring encounter at Filey Road.

A century from Dave Girling (102) was the highlight of the visitors' 235-6, which also included 51 from Ben Cutts.

Jamie Nesfield (3-53) took half of the six wickets but his figures were bettered by Tom Baines, who took for 4-59 in a losing cause as Will Norman (66) and Anthony Stones (49) led the home side towards a memorable victory.

An unbeaten century from Tom Appleyard (112no) condemned Selby to relegation as they lost to fellow strugglers Hull by 66 runs.

Fergus Wilkinson (70), Matin Watkin (46) and Laurence Wilkinson (45) all pitched in as the home side reached an impressive 307-3.

Gareth Phillips (60), Darrell Guy (56) and Lee Wild (49) all endeavoured to keep their side's hopes alive, but James Anson (4-30) and Joe Hewitt (3-43) had the final say.

Hornsea could yet get dragged back into the relegation places after they suffered a 29-run defeat in a low-scoring match at Ripon.

Ashley McKinley took 4-37 as the home side were bowled out for 130, with Mike Ainsley (35) the only batsman from either side to pass 30.

The visitors must have fancied their chances chasing such a modest target but they came unstuck as Dan Crewe picked up 6-19 and only just managed three figures.

The match between mid-table sides Dringhouses and Heworth was another low-scoring contest, but this one had a much tighter finish.

George Wilson (4-28) and Tom Storr (3-36) shared seven wickets as hosts Heworth were all out for 126, but they fought back through Dan Walton (4-38) and Reece Milner (3-19), and had it not been for Andrew Wilson's 74 the outcome could have completely different as the visitors won with their final pair at the wicket.
