Malton & Norton GC starlet Josh Stead
JOSH STEAD, of Malton & Norton Golf Club, is the new York Union junior champion.
The scratch tournament was played at Heworth GC, with Stead firing rounds of 67 and 72 to beat Fulford's Tom Kelly by one shot.
Having held a two-shot lead at lunchtime, it all went down to the last putts on round two - Stead holing for a birdie four to clinch the title.
He follows in the footsteps of previous Malton & Norton winners of the York Union junior title - current European Tour player Simon Dyson and England amateur international David Hague.
