EVERGREEN York Acorn ARLC prop Adam Endersby is heading to the famous Dubai 7s rugby union tournament later this year.

Endersby has been selected for the over-35s team named The Bulldogs - formerly organised by the British Amateur Rugby League Association but now an independent squad albeit still featuring amateur RL players turning their hand to the short version of the other code.

Former York City Knights player-boss Paul March, currently in charged of Acorn's National Conference League rivals Shaw Cross Sharks, is player-coach.

They will fly out to Dubai in November to compete in the International Veterans competition against amateur outfits from all around the world.

Acorn boss Leigh Paul-Rientoul said of his 35-year-old front-rower: "He's like a fine wine - he's getting older but he seems to be getting better. He's been playing really well.

"He's just non-stop and does not give up - he can run all day. He's a tank - I don't know where he gets his energy from."

Endersby, who had a spell at the Knights in 2008 while March was in charge, is requiring sponsorship to help fund the trip. Anyone interested can phone Paul-Rientoul on 07854 378293.
