THERE was no change to the standings at the top of the Hunters ECB Yorkshire Premier League North but just eight points cover the top four after all the contenders won but only Yorkshire Academy and Harrogate picked up maximum points.

It looked like a shock was on the cards at Low Catton Road when Hull reached 153-1 chasing Stamford Bridge's 218-9 but the leaders held their nerve to win by 20 runs.

Once again Will Rhodes led the way for the home side with a half-century, with support coming from both Max Maciver (39) and Josh Cooper (33) as Dave Barrick (3-67) and Ben Wilkinson (3-40) did well with the ball.

Andrew Simpson (38) and Peter Shally put on 95 for the first wicket and, although Shally went on to make 103, once he was run out the pressure told on the visitors, with Ryan McKendry taking 4-32 to close out the match.

Yorkshire Academy moved to within one point of the leaders after bowling out Scarborough for just 68 at Weetwood.

Spinners Jack Shutt (3-12) and James Logan (3-9) thrived as the visitors narrowly avoided making the competition's lowest total, with that dubious honour remaining with Castleford, who made 64 against Harrogate last season.

However, the home side had not had things their own way, losing three early wickets having been put in, but Ben Birkhead, who would go on to make 102, shared stands of 103 with Jordan Thompson (45) and 77 with Alec Drury (53no), with an eventual total of 239-5 more than enough to secure a third straight win.

Third-placed York returned to winning ways, having lost their last two, with a convincing eight-wicket victory at Woodhouse Grange.

An unbeaten century from Chris Bilton (101no) provided exactly half the home side's total of 202-9, which included wickets for Charlie Elliot (3-38) and Daniel Woods (3-44).

In response, Duncan Snell and Tom Friend (39) put on 90 for the opening wicket.

Snell, the competition's leading run scorer, then added 102 for the second with Adam McAuley (56) and remained unbeaten, finishing on 87.

Kallen Bond ensured Harrogate kept up the pressure on the side above them, taking season's best figures of 7-8 from 5.4 overs as the league's bottom side Easingwold collapsed from 77-1 to 93 all out at St George's Road.

That was in reply to the home side's 180, with Josh Sargent taking 5-38 and, in conditions clearly more suited to bowling, the batting honours belonged to Gate duo Harry Stothard (61) and George Ross (52).

Driffield Town's fourth consecutive victory, and the third in row at Kings Mill Road, was built around an excellent individual performance from all-rounder Sam Drury.

He was the leading bowler, finishing with 4-32 as visitors Clifton Alliance were restricted to 181-9, despite a century from Jack Beath, his side's first in the competition with no other batsmen reaching 20.

The home side raced to the target inside 32 overs, with Casey Rudd making 64 and Drury a match-winning unbeaten 72.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge are another side with the winning habit as they made it three in a row, with the latest success coming at home against Acomb by 82 runs.

Despite wickets from Tom Neal (3-53) and Joe Dale (3-58), the hosts still reached 227-8, Adam Fisher top-scoring with 66.

The visitors made a promising start, with Jack Spence (35), Joe Dale (42) and Richard Love (31) all getting in, but their good work was undone by Russ Robinson, who took 5-32 as the last six wickets fell for just 21.
