YORK RI hosted a Rugby Football Union 24/7 tournament last weekend at New Lane.
Organised by the club’s rugby development officer Richard Francis, the event attracted nine teams who played a total of 21 games.
Wetherby RUFC emerged as the inaugural champions after beating Cheshire-based side ‘Rascals’ in the final.
They will now progress to the regional finals at West Park and also have an opportunity to qualify for the national finals staged at Bath’s Recreation Ground.
