TOLLERTON are the new leaders of division five in the IT Sports Mixed Tennis League after winning a top of the table clash with Rufforth.

Ben Drummond and Pauline Brown, playing in her first match, led the way, winning 31 games. They won again last week at Bishopthorpe despite the best efforts of unbeaten Rob Williams and Elizabeth Opie.

Alne slip down a place after losing to Stillington who move out of the relegation zone.

Poppleton maintained their unbeaten record in division one against Wigginton who slip to third. York take over in second spot after a two game win against Dunnington.

A high scoring first round ensured the points for Fulford at Heworth.

Wetherby Castlegarth remain top of division two after victory over David Lloyd. Rufforth are just one point behind after Tom Shouksmith and Denise Riley won 30 games at Sherburn. Third placed Poppleton lost to York.

Bishopthorpe won their first match against David Lloyd after James Parker and Ellie Page won 23 games.

In division three, Fulford’s Tom Craddock and Wendy Cook won 28 games as they beat Wigginton. Rowntree Park grabbed the points against a strong Cliffe side.

Wilberfoss lost by just 2 games to third placed Sutton and move out of the automatic relegation places on games difference.

George Lintott and Louise Marshman won 31 games in victory over Rowntree Park to ensure Riccall stay top of division four. Appleton Roebuck beat promotion rivals Fulford thanks to top scorers Geoff Bullock and Sara Heron. Copmanthorpe are still in touch but lost heavily to Wetherby Castlegarth who escape from one of the relegation places.

Heworth are the new leaders of division seven after ending neighbours’ New Earswick’s unbeaten record. Bubwith are level on points after a win at Wistow with Liam Moore and Julia Barber taking 31 games. Copmanthorpe and Sutton swapped places as Graham Garbett and Claire Fuller remained unbeaten.

Oli Everard and Jennifer Jones won 29 games to help Stillington to a first win and sent Tollerton into the bottom two.

Charlie Pearcy and Suzanne Webb opened with an 11-1 win to help Appleton Roebuck to a second win against Bishopthorpe in division eight. Rufforth added another win against Wilberfoss.

Fulford lost their first match in division nine to David Lloyd who were inspired by unbeaten Phil Rigby and Debbie Holman. Wigginton climb to second after a win against Bishopthorpe.

Stamford Bridge still lead division ten but were pushed all the way by Rufforth who added another win against Bishopthorpe.

David Lloyd are still second after the week’s top scorers Lee Brayford and Katy Fowler won 34 games against Fulford.
