STRENSALL'S Chris Quantock will take on world number 11 Michael Smith tomorrow in the last 32 of the Austrian Darts Open in Vienna.

Quantock won his first match at the PDC European Tour event, defeating Paul Rowley 6-4 after fighting back from trailing 2-0.

The former Huntington School pupil averaged 89.59, while throwing two 180s, seven 140-plus shots and 11 ton-plus efforts.

Quantock's highest checkout of the match was 88, although his finishing could have been better, with 22 leg-winning darts, making for a modest 27.27 success rate.

Opponent Rowley managed to hit four of his eight checkout darts, but only mustered a highest finish of 32.

Quantock's second-round opponent Smith reached the World Championship quarter-finals in 2016.
