YORK Acorn ARLC Under-13s are looking forward to playing at the home of Kingstone Press Championship club Featherstone Rovers next month.
The team has reached the final of the Continuation Cup, which is being staged at the LD Nutrition Stadium (formerly known as Post Office Road) on Saturday July 8.
Acorn beat Oulton Raiders 26-24 to secure their place in the final and coach Craig Lucas, who has worked with the youngsters for seven years, said: "It is their best achievement and was the best game of rugby I have seen all season in the age group.
"The full team played it's part with some outstanding tries scored," he added. "The lads are buzzing about the win because not many make it there - and I can't remember the last time a junior team from York got to a final."
