CAROLINE Whitaker gamed in 22 arrows, but was still on the losing side for Burnholme in the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

The efforts of Whitaker’s team-mates Lynne Willstrop and Marj Pearson also helped Burnholme enter the pairs’ games on level terms in their contest with division one rivals Tramways A.

Lauren Farmeary–Bev Harton then edged Ways in front, before Gina Whittaker–Jayne Jane sealed victory and mother-and-daughter duo Tracey and Natalie Farmeary added a further point to secure a 6-3 win.

Marcia won at Severus A with Barbara Russell–Linda Penrose clinching the points.

The hosts’ Sue Clark and Carol Robson were singles winners, but Penrose, Russell, Sue Smith and Sharon Rishworth gave the visitors a 4-2 advantage.

Top-team Ox were tied 3–3 after Edinburgh’s Emma Frankland had added to Julie Stables and captain Chris Lamb’s wins.

Sandra Bruce, Anne Bass and Toni Smallwood replied for the hosts, who went on to prevail 6-3.

Fulfordgate, who only trail Ox on win ratio, were prevented from a clean sheet by Maggie Bedingham at Leeman B.

Michelle Britton, Gate’s captain, gamed in 23 arrows, which included two tons.

In division two, the top-two teams met with Slipper hosting Severus B, whose Sue Gillon won the opener.

Dot Sellars and Angie Kaya increased the lead, only for Jody Hancock, Ann Parkyn and Anita Adams to make it all square.

Severus nudged ahead again thanks to Gillon–Sellars, but Parkyn-Doreen Johnstone hit back and Adams–Sue Tate went on to send Slipper to the top of the table.

Clockhouse beat Shoulder with Lisa Benton and Lauren Tattersfield setting the pace before Sandra Flintoft and Kirsty Limbert replied.

Rose Gray and Gemma Coulson also ensured the scores stayed equal, before the latter joined Margaret Forth to swing the balance, allowing Gray–Sarah Rankeillor and Benton–Laura Gatenby to wrap up victory.

Leeman A had enjoyed a final-leg win despite Margaret Yeomans’ opener being wiped out by Clifton’s Angela Fletcher, Linda Turgoose and Jane Flynn.

Jackie Gray and Dawn Clarke ensured it was level pegging going into the pairs.

Leeman’s Charlotte Witts–Janet Nelson had their team in the ascendancy again, before Flynn–Fletcher took the game all the way, only for captain Debbie Witts and Yeomans to seal match points.

A four-match winning streak for Tramways B was ended by Saddle, who had match points in the bag, as Sharon Nelson joined Liz Jackson, Vicky McClaren triumphed and Kath Powell joined Nelson in the win box.
