ENGLAND are definitely my tip to win the Champions Trophy.

I also think they will win the final against Australia at The Oval in a couple of weeks' time.

The Aussies look to be the closest side to us in terms of quality and look very dangerous at the minute.

With the conditions here in England, I think it's going to suit our styles of play more than any other team.

Australia have a long batting line-up who hit the ball hard. They also have a lot of quick bowlers. We have the same.

The strength in depth of England's line-up with both bat and ball is phenomenal - Moeen Ali coming in where he does, along with Stokes and Buttler in that late middle order.

There's so much firepower, and we just seem to be racking up 300 consistently at the minute. We have a great chance as a result.

I also believe we now have what we were missing in previous limited-overs tournaments prior to last year's World T20 - that big-game experience.

Not only did a lot of the lads play in that World T20 final against the West Indies, a few, such as Morgan, Buttler and Stokes, will have gained a huge amount from their recent IPL stints.

That defeat to the West Indies in India must have hurt them, and it will probably give them even more desire to try and win this competition on home soil.

When the lads come back to us at Yorkshire, it seems like they've had so much fun away with England.

They all report back and say they're loving it with the group of players and the coaching staff they have.

They've had pretty much the same squad for the last five or six one-day series, which is a massive positive in terms of things like role awareness.

I have another tip for you - Adil Rashid as an outsider for player of the tournament.

Rash looks to be bowling beautifully at the minute, and he's a massive player for England.

If he can pick up three or four wickets in his ten overs, even going for 70 or 80, he's done his job.

The way that the pitches are. It seems to be quite tough for seamers to get wickets at the moment, but with Rash spinning it both ways, he's got a really good chance.

He can also provide valuable lower-order runs.

He scores in some weird places with his wristy style, and we all tell him at Yorkshire he has steering-wheel wrists.

Jonny Bairstow would be in any other one-day team in the world at the minute.

As a Yorkshire lad, I'd love to see him playing.

We see first hand in the nets what he can do. That hundred he scored for us against Durham was something else, but who do you leave out?

I'd be surprised if Jonny doesn't get a chance at some point in this tournament whether it's due to injury or someone down on form. But he can come in and make a massive impact.

Hopefully, if he does get a go, he'll prove people wrong and stay in the team.

Even though he's not in the side, I'm sure he won't be too down in the dumps. He'll be vibrant and giving energy to the other lads in the squad.

He's that type of character who is great to have around.

The length of the Champions Trophy - around three weeks - is perfect as far as I'm concerned.

Everyone seems to be loving 50-over cricket at the minute, and this competitions seems to have a real air of excitement attached to it.

But if we play too much of it - a little bit like is happening with T20 around the world - that special feeling will disappear.

I'm not too sure exactly how much live cricket I will see due to our commitments at Yorkshire.

I don't often look beyond the next week of fixtures, but whenever I'm free, I will be watching, especially when England are on.

After our rain-shortened one-day friendly with South Africa A on Saturday, Steve Patterson really did make sure we all felt very proud of our efforts.

It was a young Yorkshire side, but we restricted them to 129-4 inside 36 overs.

They were a good side with a lot of experience, and I'm sure they will be hoping to force their way into the Champions Trophy squad if there was an injury, but we had much the better of the cricket played.

For our young lads to know they can go toe to toe with a team like that is massive.
