RAIN decimated last week's matches in the IT Sports Mixed Tennis League.

Dunnington lost for the first time in division one as Wigginton's unbeaten pair, Ben Walker and Eleanor Bradshaw, ended their night with a 12-0 return, being well supported by Phil Langley and Denise Crane.

York got their first win but were pushed all the way by home side Fulford, ending with a four-game win.

David Woon and Angela Crossley ensured Wetherby Castlegarth stayed top of division two, winning 29 games at York.

Rufforth remained third after top-scorers James Edmond and Sue Yoward led them to another win against Bubwith, with good support coming from the unbeaten Tom Shouksmith and Denise Riley.

Fulford lost their for the first time in division three against neighbours David Lloyd, having had to concede 12 games in an otherwise very close match.

The previous week David Lloyd had no answers to an unbeaten Sutton upon Derwent side inspired by Matt Ward and Vicky Bland who won all three rubbers 9-3.

Rufforth are the division five pacesetters after Will Edmond and Kate Lewis remained unbeaten in a hard-fought match against Bishopthorpe. Last week they took the points at Stillington who were forced to concede games due to injury.

Josh Hunt and Ed Hope kept Tollerton in second place with a victory against neighbours Alne.

Wiberfoss stayed top of division six on games-difference after a two-game win against Sutton upon Derwent thanks to a strong first round.

They stayed just ahead of Wigginton, who were pushed all the way by visitors Cliffe, led by unbeaten Dave Tomlinson and Liz Boville. Wiggy's top-scorers, Malcolm Pringle and Helen Brown, made sue of the points.

Despite the best efforts of unbeaten Liam Moore and Julia Barber, Bubwith lost their unbeaten record in division seven to leaders New Earswick, Keith Peason and Nicky Georgiou showing good early season form.

Bishopthorpe got their first win last week after previously going down to second-placed Fulford. Bishops beat Poppleton led by Tim Mandle and Krysia Clack, although Pop's Harry Bowden and Pat Mackellar were unbeaten.

A strong Stamford Bridge side brushed aside a useful Bishopthorpe outfit in division 10, led by Brett Carter and Angela Robinson, with Richard Story and Natalie Muir giving good support.

Sutton upon Derwent kept their unbeaten run going with a win at Fulford thanks to Graham Stephenson and Clare Kettle. Fulford's Neil Herriott and Clare Taylor were likewise undefeated.
