EASINGWOLD Town Reserves snatched a last-gasp promotion spot from the clutches of F1 Racing following following a 4-3 win over Harrison Signs.

The victory will now see Easingwold advance into the York Minster Engineering League Reserve A division, alongside champions Pocklington Town.

Signs were not short on endevaour and struck three times courtesy of Mark Benton, Darren Shearer and James Dunwoody.

But Matthew Fishburn proved to be Town’s hero on the night bagging all four of their goals.

F1 now face another season of challenge in Reserve B, where they will be joined by Dringhouses and Tadcaster Magnets, who will, no doubt, both be looking to get straight back into the reserve section’s top flight.

In the League Senior Cup, four goals from Simon Reeves saw Malton & Norton gain a 4-1 home success over Osbaldwick to set up a local derby with rivals Old Malton St Mary’s.

Joining them in round three are Tadcaster Magnets, who defeated Hemingbrough United 4-2.

Adam Udakis, Matthew Howgate, Andrew Kitchen and Ryan Ferguson struck for the home side with.

Round three of the Reserve Cup saw a major shock after Pocklington Town dispatched double-winning Reserve A champions Huntington Rovers 3-2.

Pock sped into a 3-0 half-time lead with strikes from Dan Boneham, Ryan Gargett and Carl Brewer before Kieran Flanagan reduced the deficit after the break.

A second Rovers goal from Pete Laidlaw proved to be too little, too late as Pock held on to go through.

A stunning strike from man-of-the-match Warren Lowe was enough to allow Harrison Signs to edge past Old Malton St Mary’s, while Wilberfoss gained a 2-0 triumph at Hemingbrough to advance.

Tom Hudson, Tom Sleight, Ben Hudson and Lenny Mason (2) fired Church Fenton White Horse through to the next round as they put five past Brooklyn without reply.
