SHERIFF Hutton Bridge II shared the spoils with Thorp Arch & Boston Spa during the third round of games in York & District Senior Cricket League Galtres division two.

Robert Stevens hit 107 as Bridge scored 235-9 but TABS chased hard (George Gibson 68no) and eventually settled for a draw at 208-6

Sessay II lost their 100 per cent record at Pannal after being bowled out for 137. Pannal chased down the total in 37 overs.

Osbaldwick were beaten by Thirsk despite runs from Dan Ellwood (44) and Anthony Butterfield (38).

Thirsk were reduced to 80-5 after three wickets in one over from Ellwood but a 97 stand between Stuart Christon (74 no) and Neil Collinson (66) turned the game and Thirsk won with four wickets in hand.

Bilton in Ainsty picked up their first win since joining the league, beating Hovingham by 69 runs. Batting first, Bilton totalled 230-8 (Ben Aked 37, Robert Hildreth 48). Hovingham had Richard Swan (40) in good form but struggled against William Swires (4-45) and Tim Lambert (3-46).

New Earswick hung on for a draw at Stillington - finishing 14 runs short of the target with one wicket in hand. Stillington scored 210-8 (Karl Simpson 43, David Jarvis 45). Tom Hewer (72) led the charge but Rich Coultous (3-42) and Oliver Everard (4-38) made it a nail-biting conclusion as New Earswick held on at 196-9.

Duncombe Park scored 189-9 at Tadcaster with Jake Fox (62) responding to Ed Day’s 3-42 and Danny Nicholls’ 3-32. The Tadcaster reply buckled in light of Peter Kent’s off spin (4-35) but held on for a draw (150-9).

In division three, Wetherby defeated New Earswick II by 138 runs. Knaresborough II had a nine wicket win at Heworth III (113-6). Jack Wilkinson (44) and Paul Whitley (31) among the runs for Heworth.

Sheriff Hutton (171) picked up their second win against Easingwold II (Josh Summerscales 3-33, Tom Langstaff 3-59) with Matthew Prosser (36) and Andy Frank (35) top scoring. Easingwold had no answer to Richard Armitage (4-7) and Matthew Maltby (6-26) and were out for 43.

Osbaldwick II beat Woodhouse Grange III after being set a target of 193-4 which included 68 from Mick Thompson and 25 not out from Yorkshire Diamonds U15s’ player Grace Hall.

Tadcaster Magnets II achieved their first maximum at Rowntrees & Huntington (111). Phil Wilson (30) took them over the line.

Huby (169 all out) collected a winning draw at home to York IV (130-8).

In division four, TABS II hit 317-4 (Matthew Bentley 135no) against Stillington II who were skittled out for 93 in 29 overs (Louie Kirkham 35).

Heslington II beat Duncombe Park II where Harry Claxton’s 4-15 saw the home team bowled out for 59.

Sam Johnson (38*) made light work of the chase and Heslington romped home by 10 wickets in 15 overs.

Sheriff Hutton II (235-7) picked up a winning draw at Copmanthorpe II with J Armitage (51) top scoring and R Lahiri (3-34) the pick of the bowlers.

G Moore’s 6-23 took Sheriff Hutton to the brink of victory but Copmanthorpe battled out for a draw at 142-9 (Newton 33). Hovingham II were unable to field a side at home to Huby II.
