YORK City manager Gary Mills wishes today's game with Forest Green Rovers was not on TV.

The Minstermen will be relegated if they lose and BT Sport have opted to show the game live.

"I would rather not be on TV if I am honest," said Mills. "I hope they are coming because they want to see York City stay in the league rather than coming to York City because they think we might go down.

"If that's the case, we have got to prove them wrong!" he added. "It's all part of a bit more pressure for us that we have to deal with."

Mills revealed that he had already snubbed a request from the TV channel to be interviewed during the game, saying: "BT like to come and talk to you on the touchline but I have said I don't want to do that. There's only one job I want to do on Saturday and that's concentrate on what we are doing.

I don't want BT coming to me on the touchline telling me that 'such and such' are winning or whatever. I don't need that. Any other game, if BT wanted to talk to me, that would be fine but not this."

Mills, who led York to promotion during his first spell as manager, insists the pressure of staying up will be greater than that associated with going up.

He also issued a rallying call to the club's supporters, saying: "We need to be united. This is about our football club.

"We have to make sure we are in there with the rest of them next season. I don't need to tell anyone how important that is going forward.

"If we go a goal down, the atmosphere cannot change," he stressed. "The supporters have got to handle the situation too. They have to stick with the players all the way through."

With York currently a point adrift of safety, even a victory does not guarantee survival.

However, York will be safe if they win and Torquay or Guiseley fail to win or Woking lose at Dagenham.

A draw will be enough if Guiseley and Braintree both lose.

"If we win and 52 points is not enough to stay up, we have got to be an unlucky side!" said Mills. "But if we win our game, we do our job and the other teams know they have to win as well.

"It's a one game shoot-out if you like.Yes, I would rather be out of the bottom four, knowing a win makes us definitely safe. But I know we can do it and that's all I am focusing on."
