HALF-BACK Danny Sowerby has been released by York City Knights after falling down the pecking order.
Sowerby arrived from Bradford Bulls' academy in the winter and began the season as first-choice stand-off beside scrum-half Harry Tyson-Wilson.
He played the first four matches but then made way for the returning Jonny Presley - the veteran having decided to stave off retirement - while Liam Harris, who can play half-back or full-back, has also arrived on dual-registration from Hull KR.
Sowerby has joined National Conference League amateurs Lock Lane.
Knights boss James Ford said: "Danny has fallen down the pecking order, with Jonny Presley back now and Liam Harris coming in.
"He has potential but needs to play and he wasn't going to play that regularly for us.
"It's a big step up from under-19s rugby and he needs to play more often to fulfil his potential.
"We thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best."
