TOCKWITH'S Sarah Moore will be on the starting grid for a new motorsport championships at Donington Park this weekend.

Moore will tackle the opening round of the Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup which makes its official debut at the East Midlands circuit.

Racing for the family team, Tockwith Motorsport, Sarah will race a Ligier JSP3 alongside United Autosports founder Richard Dean in the two one-hour races.

Moore believes the move to the Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup will help improve her growing credentials in sportscar racing, which includes class victories in the VLN Championship at the Nurburgring.

She will partner Dean against some of the best teams and drivers in the country - including a two-car effort from the United Autosports team - with rivals including Matt Bell, who was an LMP3 podium finisher in the European Le Mans Series, and rising single-seater star Thomas Randle.

Moore goes into the Donington weekend after a series of tests behind the wheel of the Ligier at Portimao.

"The Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup is developing into a very competitive series and I’m pleased to say I’ll be taking part in the first round of the year," she said.

"I’m looking forward to racing with the family team and with Richard," she added. "He’s a rapid driver and a good font of knowledge to have around with his experience of the car. I think we’ll work well together and I can’t wait to get going on Saturday."

Moore's one hour practice session takes place on Saturday morning, followed by a ten minute qualifying session, and one hour race on Saturday afternoon.

A second qualifying session takes place at Sunday lunchtime followed by a second one-hour race in the afternoon.
