HUNTINGTON Rovers Reserves won a dramatic penalty shoot out against Stamford Bridge to reach the final of the York FA Saturday Junior Cup.

The two sides shared six goals but Huntington finally booked their passage to the final with a 12-11 victory in the shoot-out.

Wetherby Athletic still lead York Minster Engineering League division four after a 2-0 win over Wheldrake. Bubwith White Swan are second following an 8-1 win over St Clements. Shaun Pickles (3), Rob Joy (2), Craig Atkin (2) and Alan Jackson scored the goals. Malt Shovel are still the biggest threat to both teams - providing they can win their games in hand.

Jason Wright and Kyle McDonald netted for Bramham who drew 2-2 with Pollington. AFC Crayke scored a 7-4 win over bottom club LNER Builders. Anthony Boyd (5), Liam Kettlewell and John Dey on target. Wigginton Grasshoppers climbed up to second in the Reserve ‘A’ table after a 4-3 win against Thorpe United. Trailing 2-0, Hoppers fought back with goals from James Sutton, Tom Kite, Tom Derbyshire, and Danny Franks. Old Malton St Mary’s moved out of the bottom two with a 7-4 win over Tadcaster Magnets. Matt Pallister and Matty Bastock twice gave Copmanthorpe the lead at home to Malton & Norton but Kingsley Daffern (2) ensured honours ended even.

After falling behind to a Vito D’Avanzo strike, F1 Racing beat Tockwith 3-1 thanks to goals from Ed Kay, Sam Martin and Nathan Snowden. Ash Newton scored a hat-trick as Pocklington won 4-0 against Brooklyn. Jack Holman added the fourth.

James Gilbertson, Daniel Clipson, Crew Eliot and Ryan Peart (2) netted for Haxby United in a 5-0 win over Stamford Bridge. Osbaldwick lost 3-2 against Riccall.

Poppleton United are on the brink of winning Reserve C following a 6-0 win at Wetherby Athletic. Heworth Green are the only threat and won 6-4 against Civil Service; Ben Norris, Will Neviani, Scott Higgs, Robert Clark and Connor Savage (2) on target. York RI remain second after a 3-3 draw at Selby Olympia. Luke Richardson bagged a hat-trick. Mike Martin scored twice for Rufforth United in a 2-0 win over Fulford. Bailey Smithwaite hit Cliffe’s goal as they lost 6-1 at home to Wilberfoss.
